How to use blueshell Active Tables

To edit the data the blueshell Active Tables control is used. This control represents a recordset. An Active Table has the following elements:

Record marker

The current data record is indicated by a triangle on the record marker, the new data record is indicated by an asterisk. If data were modified, a pencil symbol is shown. In this case the current record can be stored by pressing the record marker.

Scrollbar

Using the scrollbar the range of the visible data records can be shifted. If the mouse clicks on the scrollbar, a window appears, which contains the number of the current data record in the form view (which is not currently used in blueshell Data Guy), in the table view the number of the first shown record. A new number can be input, which changes the display accordingly.

Zoom text

If the active text field is too large to display in the grids column (or if it contains more than one line) the Zoom text button is displayed to its right. Click this button (or press F4 or Alt+↓) to display the Text zoom window. You may use this window to edit your text. You may enlarge this window using its size grip at its lower right corner.

Note that you may use the keys F4 or Alt+↓ even when the Zoom text button is not displayed if the active field contains a string.

Buttons Data view

(Currently not used in blueshell Data Guy) It can be switched between the form view, showing the current record in a form, and a table view, showing a number of records in a table.

Button Goto new record

Makes the new record the current data record.

Button Delete record

Deletes the current data record. With the first operation the record is only stroked over. Afterwards either the button Undo can be used, in order to cancel the operation, or the button Delete record can be used again to acknowledge the operation.

Button Undo

Cancels the last modification in the current data record. After a data record is stored, no modification can be cancelled.

Button Filter

Opens a window, where a filter condition and/or a sort sequence can be input. If a filter is active, the button appears pressed.

Button Find

Opens a window, where a search condition can be input. This window has also buttons leading to the first, previous, next and last record corresponding to the search condition.

Button Refresh

Requeries the recordset. Unsaved data will be lost.
