More details

dBase or Paradox format

There is a problem with editing tables in dBase or Paradox format (supported by the Jet provider). These formats require the Borland Database Engine (BDE) in order to write to them. If the BDE isn't installed at your system, these databases will be read-only. You may download an update of the BDE from the Inprise (former Borland) homepage www.inprise.com.

Sort and filter

Sort and filter are supported even on scribbling-tables. However, ADO doesn't support sort and filter on some field types like Memo, Object and Variant. Because tables imported from the clipboard or by drag and drop always use scribbling-tables with adVariant fields they cannot be filtered or sorted directly. To enable filter and sort first use Export on the scribbling-table and then specify field types like Text, Integer or Date for your destination table. If the scribbling-table is exported like this, sort and filter can be used on the new table.
